Info: Political Weaning

Politics has captured my attention significantly lately which means Greg's Blogoverse has been immersed in it. So much that it looked like a political blog for some time. I'm taking a few steps to take politics down a notch. It'll still be there, but I'll be limiting it to something like once a week. And I'll try to post more than once a week.

Info: Fiction Planning

Ok I've gotten lazy on the fiction blog. I could make excuses, but the reality is always that when we don't do something, it's because we're doing something else. Something else always comes up. Yeah I don't directly make a profit from blogging, and never plan to, but it's good practice for my writing chops and gets my juices going (the ones in my brain), so it's worthwhile.

So while I can't say how quickly I'll get back to fiction, I still start with a plan. My new/revised goal is to be developing four short stories at any given time and alternating writing sections for each.

First, since I'm taking a long time on these I changed the names slightly, going for names like Story L08, Story F08, etc. The idea is to write stories a section at a time. Once I have a complete story, I'll do a complete rewrite and present it in total with a final title.

I need to get to a good place to be alternating between the stories so I figure I need to write the following sections in this order:

Story L08 Part 3
Story L08 Part 4
Story L08 Part 5
Story A08 Part 3
Story L08 Part 6
Story A08 Part 4
Story F08 Part 2

After these are written, I should be able to alternate between four stories like Story 1, Story 2, Story 3, Story 4, Story 1, etc. As one story is complete another one will be started so that four stories are constantly going.

Update: Fine Tuning the Blogs

I've been spending a lot of time offline refining my thoughts and working out some plot issues. Online I'm still trying to find that right groove, the voice of each blog, and I've experimented a bit.

I had opened a humor focused blog but I haven't quite felt it was right and think it would be better to just keep that a part of Greg's Blogoverse. I had formerly attempted to keep the divide between Greg's Brain and the Blogoverse between abstract versus real-world topics respectively.

This will change a bit I think and the divide between Brain and Blogoverse will more likely be long analytical leaning posts versus shorter pop-cultural-humor leaning posts respectively. On the Brain, I'll try to promote more discussion if I get more commenters. I'm also going to try a bit of podcasting.

For selective posts I'll do an MP3 version where I basically read the post. Feedburner is supposed to convert this to a podcast through the voodoo they do, so I'll see how this goes. I probably won't do this for every post because it is time consuming, but we'll see how it goes.
